Who this can support

Start with the learner.

For parents and carers who want to understand the options, discuss a learner’s needs or explore how personalised learning could help.

01 / A PERSONAL PATHWAY

Tell us what matters

Share strengths, interests, current concerns and what has already been tried. Keep the first enquiry general; detailed learner records can be shared later through an agreed secure route.

02 / A PERSONAL PATHWAY

Explore the options

Talk through the teaching or support needed and whether one-to-one or group work, online or face to face, would be suitable and available. Agree the setting, timetable, costs and who would arrange or fund it.

03 / A PERSONAL PATHWAY

Stay involved

Agree who you can contact, how updates will be shared and when to review the plan, including your child’s experience of the sessions.

For parents and carers

Know what your child’s support will involve.

Learning and support

The individual plan identifies what will be taught, the skills to practise, how sessions will be adapted and what a manageable starting point looks like.

Your part in the plan

Agree who you can contact, how your child’s views are heard, what updates you will receive and when you will review the support together.

Qualifications and practical arrangements

Check the subject or award, level, exam-entry arrangements and any separate fees. Confirm the timetable, delivery setting, costs and cancellation terms. A direct enquiry does not itself confirm funding.

Before you begin

Your questions, answered.

Can a parent contact Reconnect directly?

Yes. Parents and carers can enquire directly. An enquiry does not guarantee funding or a placement; the proposed arrangements are agreed after discussing suitability and responsibilities.

How do we arrange support?

Start with a referral enquiry. We discuss needs, suitability, delivery, timetable, costs and review arrangements before a placement is agreed. Please keep identifying learner records for an agreed secure information-sharing route.

Can we request policies first?

Yes. All policies are available on request through our policy request form.
