Not sure what’s next?
Start with what’s possible.

A supportive route back into learning and future planning for young people who are currently not in education, employment or training. We start with the person, their interests and a manageable first step.

A purposeful programme

Reconnect before expecting a big commitment.

Being out of education or work can have many causes. We listen first, agree practical goals and build a programme that gives the young person a reason to take part and evidence of what they can do.

Rebuild engagement

A consistent relationship, achievable tasks and space to understand what helps the young person participate.

Develop useful skills

Communication, everyday English and maths, digital tasks and work-related practice connected to personal goals.

Explore routes forward

Consider education, training or work options and practise the steps involved in pursuing them.

An example in practice

One manageable action can create momentum.

A learner might begin by identifying an interest, researching a local course and drafting a question to ask the provider. The aim is to turn a distant possibility into an action they understand and can attempt. Activities are adapted individually.

Clarity before provision starts

What the learner will receive.

Education

Purposeful learning connected to current skills, interests and the requirements of a possible next pathway.

Individual support

Individual mentoring and engagement support, with agreed review points and help to prepare the next action.

Qualifications & progression

A qualification can be explored where it supports the plan, including Functional Skills where suitable. Registration, assessment and availability are confirmed individually. A place in work or training is not guaranteed.

From enquiry to review

A clear plan.
People working together.

The programme, session arrangements and review approach are agreed before provision begins. An enquiry is the start of a suitability discussion.

01

Have a conversation

Hear the young person’s perspective, current circumstances and hopes for change.

02

Agree an achievable start

Choose meaningful goals, session arrangements and the support needed to take part.

03

Turn progress into a next step

Review work and participation, then plan a supported move towards an appropriate opportunity.

Safety underpins the plan. Safeguarding contacts, relevant information, adult responsibilities and safe delivery arrangements are discussed before support starts. Safer recruitment and professional boundaries matter throughout.
