GCSE SUPPORT FOR SCHOOLS
Reconnect Learning provides personalised GCSE tuition and academic intervention for schools requiring additional support in English, Maths, Science and other subjects where suitable specialist tutors are available.
Provision can support learners experiencing disrupted education, persistent absence, EBSNA, SEND, SEMH, alternative provision, reduced timetables or gaps in subject knowledge, with teaching aligned to the learner's actual GCSE route.
TARGETED GCSE INTERVENTION
A learner may need additional GCSE tuition because of absence, disrupted education, SEND, anxiety, low confidence, a reduced timetable or specific gaps in subject knowledge.
Effective intervention should not simply repeat everything the learner has missed. It should identify the topics, knowledge, skills and exam habits most likely to strengthen their progress within the time available.
Target the gaps, protect confidence and align every session with the learner's real specification, tier and intended outcome.
WHY SCHOOLS COMMISSION GCSE SUPPORT
Focused teaching around priority content identified through school information, learner work and assessment.
Continued GCSE learning during persistent absence, reduced timetables, placement gaps or alternative provision.

Adapted teaching pace, communication, resources and learning demands shaped around individual needs.
1:1 or small-group tuition where targeted external academic intervention is required.
Focused GCSE support linked to college, sixth-form, training and future progression requirements.

Support to rebuild belief and willingness to attempt challenging GCSE work.
Structured GCSE learning during a placement gap or educational transition.
Short-term support around a defined subject, topic or assessment priority.
CURRICULUM ALIGNMENT
GCSE specifications are not interchangeable. The tutor needs to know what the learner is actually studying so that revision, question practice and subject content remain relevant.
Schools can help maximise the value of tuition by sharing accurate curriculum, specification and assessment information before intervention begins.

Share current attainment, subject route and outcomes.
Identify gaps, confidence, SEND needs and priorities.
Agree subjects, specification, tier and delivery.

SCHOOL COMMISSIONING INFORMATION
Where available, schools should provide enough information for the tutor to align support with the learner's established programme.
The scope and responsibilities of the intervention should be understood before tuition begins.
FLEXIBLE GCSE DELIVERY

Targeted teaching where subjects, specifications, levels and learner needs are compatible.
Live GCSE teaching where remote delivery is suitable for the learner and subject.

EXAM PREPARATION
GCSE teaching and revision should reflect the correct exam board, specification, tier, required texts and school curriculum sequence.
